What stops a V8 from starting,,
coil packs only cause a miss, and the usual culprit, the CAS usually fails when hot,, not after you've just cooled/hosed it.
I wonder if its a security thing?
Stored errors are next I reckon,, but will the ECM "store" errors if the car wont start?
    You out there Sierrafery?

Definitely won't be spark related as OP said this

So with the use of this spray start, will the engine continue to run if you continue to spray? or does it eventually die if you continue to spray as well.

It sounds like the "Inertia Switch" may be the problem here as the engine will turn over and has spark.
The Inertia Switch cuts the fuel supply when activated

OP says they got water in the engine bay(doesn't say how).
Could water have got into the fuel system too?

eg. was the wet engine bay after a river/creek/floodway crossing, or was it in pressure cleaning the engine bay, or .... ?

    Wet ECU?

I was thinking along those lines but OP said he checked the fuel cut off switch .

2003 disco 2 V8 HSE cranks , wont run, help

Hi Gents, got wet with low pressure hose just getting rid of dirt in engine bay, tried and replaced fuel cutoff switch, checked and changed fuel pump but was ok,replaced cas, iacv, fuel relays, checked all fuses, removed/ reconnected ecu connectors.injector bank didn't seem wet as I removed top plenum to check, yes it runs with spray into inlet ok and continues to run when constantly sprayed, could possibly be a security /immobiliser issue ,I didn't think of that.I see a lot of you fellas use a nanocom, how effective are these diagnostic tools ?as I see they are quite expensive. p.s also checked first after getting wet if water ingressed thru firewall into ecu wiring and was dry as the seal was intact also. cheers.

It could be coincidence. My V8 would spin over and not even consider firing. It was what LR call their Intelligent Driver Module containing fuse box...ie the large one in front of your right knee when driving. When you change it it needs 15mins with ignition on for the IDM and the computer to coordinate. Mine then fired straight up. You changed CAS so good but did you check fuel pressure? Cheers

Only two experiences I've had with immobiliser was that it totally locked the car, in that engine wouldn't turn over, crank or nothing.
D2 V8(mine) and TD5(brothers) both were due to low volt batteries. But in both instances we had no cranking of engine.

So it there a immobiliser situation where it allows the car to crank over too?

When I fried my ECU (D2 V8) I installed a new ECU, it would crank and not run, I did the learn security function and it synched the system and it fired. So hence thinking it my be worth a try.
Another thing to check is is the fuel pump actually running. are you getting a feed of 12 volts to it . If not then there is a power supply problem somewhere in the wiring ,.
