It is not as easy as it once was. A number of engineers aren't interested in body lifts and wont sign-off on them. Others are waiting for the new regulations to be finalized.
I have re-read all these posts and just spoke to Brad at KLR at Penrith and also Turboglide, both have put in turbos without to much problems with space (may be issues with Isuzu with county A/C).
So with this project the body lift is off the list.
Still a great exercise in learning about LRovers, mechanical repairs, rust repairs and have miles of work to do. In fact have learn't to weld and very happy with the welds.
This is a great forum, thanks for inputs.

This fella had a turbo fitted to his 4BD1, truck is up on ebay.

Maybe if you get in quick before it sells he'll take a bunch of happy snaps of how the turbo went in.
Looks like he has factory air too.

if you read the Q and A at the bottom it says he has removed the A/C to fit the turbo in...
Q: Where in Melbourne are you located? Also does this vehicle have power stearing A/C or any other features?

A: in bundoora, 25mins nth est of melb. it has power steering but the terrible aircon unit they came with got taken out for the turbo.
