    Steering damper

I think I need to replace mine, is it better to go for something like OME, or should I just stick to OEM?

Much of a much to my mind personally. LandRover seem to have some pretty good dampners etc - I haven't had any problem sticking with them in mine anyway!

I'd see what's cheapest personally!

Hmm, I think price might be the over-riding factor this time, having just put Bilsteins on the corners the wallet is a bit thin.

    Quick price check - OEM $65, Bilstein $220 8O

had ome on mine but they would not handle the 35s ( they were stuffed)
but they were only on car for 2 years with 265/75/16 ats.

since fitting the bil drives perfect.

    rover land aprox 180.00

There was some discussion on the 4way steering shockers recently on this forum. In fact, there was enough positive feedback to convince me to put one in the SIII before doing a 6,000km trip - I'll probably buy it in next months credit card period.

Here's the ebay link to the product:

I agree that the Bilsteins, and especially the 4 way dampeners are brilliant at what they do - and that they are essentially the best.

BUT = are they worth the extra cost??? Over 3 times the amount of OEM part!!! 8O

My opinion only is that they are not, for the driving etc that a lot of us do! :?

Well, if it's a budget driven decision, let me know. I have an ironman steering damper in good nic for $40. pm me if that will do for the time being.
