    THEMS THE BRAKES OR NOT

The rangie's brake m/cylinder has sh@t itself and even after fitting new seals its still leaking, gonna bite the bullet and go new but they are a bit exxy at approx. $345. I can get one from the UK at about $140 + postage.
Anyone bought one locally for reasonable money ?

Why not get it re-sleeved with stainless, any good brake place should be able to point you in the right direction or organise it for you.

I agree with Bushie. SS sleeves are a good move. Here it's done by Power Brakes but Vic. would have someone surely.

Under "Resto Info",I notice they have a turnaround of 5 days.

I have thought about re sleeving but unless it is a lot cheaper than a new one its not worth it, change over is about $185+ and a new one is 60 pounds +freight.

But they could still do you for GST on arrival. Starting to sound expensive imho.

The thing with SS sleeving is that it won't corrode ever again so it's a lifetime thing.

Bang them off an E-mail & then you'll know.

I thought the idea of a SS re-sleve was that it is the end of your problems forever? No corrosion

The other option is to use silicone brake fluid. It's only allowed to be used in non-abs cars, but it doesn't absorb moisture, so reduces or stops corrosion problems. I use it in the lotus. Once it's pure in the system you never have to change it again
