    Amber warning lights

I gave my S2 TD5 a hammering up in the Vic High Country and came out with a few problems. The bent track rod is an easy fix but fixing the cause of some amber warning lights may be a bit tricky. I have the amber Traction Control, Down Hill Descend Control and ABS warning lights permanently on. The ABS seems to be working as the brakes pulse when braking in the loose stuff. I pulled the wheels off and cleaned the brake calipers to get the dust and crap out of them working on the asumption that all three rely on the braking but the lights are still on. Any clues? Anyone?

Hi murray, this is just a suggestion, try disconnecting your battery and leaving it disconnected for a few minutes and see if that resets it.

I had a similar problem on a couple of occasions with my Series 2 disco and it turned out to be totally unrelated to any of the indicator lights.

It was caused by me pressing the alarm button as I turned the key in the ignition switch. ops:

    Cheers

Yeah should have thought of that one. It is amazing how many things just need a "master re-set" especially all the electronic stuff. I'll have to find the radio security code first, last time I had the battery disconnected it took me days to locate it and get the radio going.

The ECU will reset itselft after being disconnected for a few minutes, but if it persists, it may have logged an ETC/ABS fault which will need to be cleared by using the diagnosis software (dealer or landy specialist).

Also check all the connections into the ABS, as I had one of the plastic clips break and was sending an error.

If you still have a problem, you have done one your ABS/ETC sensor. The diagnosis software will be able to tell you if this is the case.

Just an update for anyone interested. I tried disconnecting the battery but that didn't work. Mechanic at Linda's Landrovers in Adelaide reset the ECU on the spot for $25.00. All returned to normal.
