That will do the job but you can get higher output inverters for less - i got a 400w continuos one for $70 off ebay.
I want an inverter that will run my mobile charger while I'm on the road, the charger is the transformer thingy that you plug into the wall and snap the phone into the cradle, SO will the one in the emporium do the job, thanks.

there is a reason they are so cheap..... a quick search will reveal it all....
if you are charging something that charges it's own battery you need a true sine wave unit, and there are two types of true sine wave inverter, high freq and low freq. the low freq are the most robust and the most reliable. not to mention having the best waveform.
the one in the emporium is a high quality low freq unit that is built to last and not kill your electronic toys evenin harsh environments...

Only the PSU500 is pure sine wave and its overkill for Crumps needs, still reckon a $60-$70 jaycar or whatever will do the trick.
It ain't worth the grief when you blow your mobile phone battery or laptop or camera batteries of anything else you choose to plug in.Originally posted by loanrangie

IMHO pure sine wave is the only to go....unless you are prepared to risk the appliance you are wanting to charge.

The cheap inverter will do just fine and around $60-$70 will get you a 300W version. A true sign wave 300W will put you back about $250. With the increased power consumption on modern laptops a true sine wave is the only way to go, for anything less than this just go cheap cheap cheap.
Be aware though, some models advertise a dual output, another words two(2) power outlets, in most cases the spacing is too small and you can only get one plug in anyway.
as long as it is pure sine wave.
no argument that the psu500 in the emporium is an overkill for that particular job alone.

Why not buy a $20 mobile phone charger that plugs into the cigarette lighter?Originally posted by crump
