    Joining multiple cables.

I have the need to join 3 pairs of 6mm auto cable (4.59sqm), is there a compact junction box or terminal system for this situation ?

Depends on the application and location a bit but I like this type: CABLE JOINERS TO SUIT 8B&S CABLE 8mm hole battery cable 12v wiring 4x4 E55-0380 | eBay

Soldered with heatshrink over the top

What i need is more for a Y shape cable arrangement so joining 3 pairs of cable, for just 2 i would use a screw terminal strip but 2 x 6mm wont fit.
Not sure if these will work as it says for solid conductors up to 4mmsq.

Connectors are all good but you cant beat soldering together. If your running 6mm i assume you are running reasonable current. Crimp and screw type connectors can invite corrosion and faulty joins . Tin your three cables separately, place 2 cables one side and the third onbthe other.then use one strand of wire and wrap it tightly around the three .then just heat the join , insulate. Done

Jaycar do a gold terminal block which takes 1x4 SWG input cable and up to 4 x8SWG terminals.
You don't have to use the input just some of the outputs.

I have had one for the past 5 years to distribute power around the back of the car.
I reckon it is neat and gives expansion room.

Perfect, thanks Philip. I did look thru the jaycar site but didn't come across them.

I'd rather a mechanical joint in this size of cable as soldering is not easy with thick cable.
