    deep cycle for D2

Where have you fitted your deep cycle 2nd battery? I have a dual system but have been unable to find a deep cycle to fit the battery cradle that fits the space available. I currently run an exide starting battery but the voltage drop overnight is not waeco friendly. I'm told its not too Exide friendly either.

    dual battery

I am assuming that you have a Defender. A second battery can fit under the passanger seat, next to the starting battery. It is a tight fit, and can't use any tie down bracket. A foam pad over the top, and under the cover keeps everything in place.

Hi wardy, it depends on how much trouble you are prepared to go to because there are a number of places in and around your D2, to fit a second battery.

The most common location is in the rear of the disco’s cargo area.

There is also a very large space up under the driver’s side rear guard, which is accessed from underneath the bumper.

On some D2s there is room for a small battery to be fitted in a box type fitting, under the D2 on the passenger’s side, directly bellow the front passenger seat. This is also a good place to store tools or something else.

    Cheers and hope this helps.

I have a deep cycle fitted to my D2 TD5. Land rover have a battery cradle that fits just above the reset switch for the safety cut off. (Rear fire wall LHS.) Was about $50.The battery that fits a is a Deep Cycle King. Can't see any part number. It's only a small one but runs the Evercool for two days as well as spots, air compressor, Flouro light and HF radio.
