    40000 service.

    Thanks CraigE.
I thought from looking at it you'd have to be a contortionist to get to it but I'll do it tomorrow with no doubt much cursing and swearing!
By the way, the last lot that serviced it charge $80 per hour that's why I was a bit dirty about the extra charge for "sundries". That and top dollar for everything used as well.
No more will I be ripped off.
    Cheers.

Forgot to mention. To get to the rod adjustment there is a cover with 6 screws over it off the bulkhead in front and down off the master cylinder that needs removing. It is infact reasonably easy to adjust. It is all back the front compared to most other vehicles. Like I said if you do not have a manual let me know and I can fax the diagrams too you today, Sat or Sun.
You do need to be double jointed to change out the master cylinder, though.

    Td5 Clutch master cylinder.

    Hi CraigE.
Well I tried hard on Saturday to fix this thing using your advices and the manual.
Firstly no amount of screwing the bolt in and out would alter the pedal freeplay!
And nothing I did under the small cover plate would do anything except make the clutch totally useless resulting in not being able to get it in gear even!
So back to the stealer it goes again.
I really have no confidence in them at all as I'd told the "Service Adviser" to "Please ensure they adjust the clutch correctly" as I'd had this prob. with them previously.
    Thanks for your help anyway.

    Akitda

If for whatever reason you do not want to do it yourself, you can get teh prices down by buying all your filters from an aftermarket provider (some have been previously mentioned) and simply drop the filters off when you get the dealer to do the work. That way you will still be paying for labour and sundries, but saving some pennies on the filters.

If worried about warranty, legally LRA must honour irrespective of where you get it serviced during the warranty period.

However, if you have something go bang outside of warranty, I believe any company (LRA included) would look more kindly on your claim if you have a record of having your vehicle serviced by a dealer.
