    Defender TD5 Driving Lights

Can anyone tell me whether they have taken the power source for the driving light relay from the positive terminal on the starter. I believe the power supply from the alternator is also connected to the same terminal.

Otherwise will have run a cable to battery beneath passenger seat. The current wire 2.5mm gets extremely hot and want to upgrade to 4.5mm +

    Thanks Rover

I have done just that. Disconnect the battery first as there is not a lot of room for error when connecting up.
Have also mounted my dual fused relay under the right hand guard wingtop plate. There are two countersunk holes in the guard which I have used to mount a "U" shaped bracket which holds the relays. Screw the wingtop plate back down and its all hidden from view.

Thankyou Disconut. I take it you connected to the alternator, not the starter. Will investigate this week-end. Looks like a difficult job to even see the positive output terminal on the alternator on the TD5.

    Thanks for the advice.
    Appreciated

Yes its the alternator. Easier to get to it from under the car.

Yep, same here... Straight from the +ve on the alternator...

Fuses mounted using existing holes in DS guard

Relays, same, but further back near brake booster.

    Cheers
    Mike
