Most of the Vicroads weighbridges now are available 24/7 to check your loads. They are calibrated, accurate and free. The website you linked has a bit too much fear mongering going on IMO - While more interest is being shown by the road authorities and Police in this area, almost no one has ever been booked for having an overweight van. All the stories of 'a mate of a mate got done' are all BS. In Vic, no one has ever been booked for this - there have been sessions where vans are pulled up and weighed but it is all about education and even the overeight vans weren't booked.

I know what my van weighs and it's well under its GTM. I do take the opportunity to run it over the free weighbridges whenever I drive past though. 😊
