Mounting a nudge bar on a D1
Can anyone please advise what size, length and how many bolts are required to mount a genuine landrover nudge bar on a 1995 Discovery S1.
I'm doing this a bit remotely at the moment the bar is in Sydney and I'm leaving from Qld to collect and fit it before a skiing trip in July. I would like to have it all soughted before I leave.
If any pics are available that would be great as well.
Thanks
Pete

Pete,
Is that the metal one with the headlight wrap arounds.
Or one of the two plastic ones. One of which has the headlight wrap arounds?

I've got the metal one with the headlight wraparaounds. Pretty sure there's four bolts, long and skinny. I can't tell you the size and I can't put up any pics (no digi camera)
Probably should've just shut up huh
Quick edit, I was contemplating putting bigger bolts in mine, just measure the width of your chassis, get some bolts long enough and drill out whatever holes needed to fit said bolts

The instructions suggest that the original bolts (4 off...two each side) should be replaced with new ones that presumably came with the bar but don't say what length.
The bolts go through the existing chassis rail holes for the bumper (two each side). I notice that they suggest reversing the nut from inside to outside.

I installed a similar bar on mine in that each of the 6mm thick brackets fixes to the inside of each of the chassis rails. I used the existing bolts and original the nut/bolt orientation and without any problem with the bolt length:

I suspect that the change in bolt/nut orientation is to do with getting a torque wrench in to get the 45 Nm suggested.

Great work,
Thats exactly what I needed to know.
The bar is the metal A bar without the wraparounds. Original LR.
I looked on the RAVE CD but it doesn't describe the bolts size, tensile strength etc.
If I can use the originals that will be fine but I will look at their size and ponder the possibility of going with new ones.
Many thanks again.
