    Tinnies VS Engel

Hi all.. I have a problem. If I put tinnies in my engel as I'm driving around I've found the tinnies tend to scratch or wear the paint off the metal components of the engel. So, my question is... how can I put them in the engel, and have them cooled efficiently, yet not scratch the fridge? 8O 8O

So basically I need something to protect the fridge that will still cool efficiently. Any ideas? 8O :?

I've got a couple of different sized plastic coated baskets that go in there - do you not have them?? get them from your engle shop.

i discovered this on my simpson trip before it rubbed a hole in the metal thingy that makes the fridge cold

rovercare, i leave the wire basket in however the spacings in the wire basket are the perfect offset so that a beer can sits between them and rubs on the condenser/evaporater thingy

i have heard people using rubber bands or do as i do and lay them down, they still get cold

i must get around to getting a piece of mesh to put across the basket so that i can stack one row of cans at one end of the fridge so that they will stay there

i guessing you use the wire basket

Yes.. I use the wire basket too. Flymesh is a really good idea.. that might be worth a try.
Also laying them down on the bottom of the fridge and putting a towel on the bottom and up the side would probably work. Problem is you have to empty everything else in the fridge.

    tinnie longevity

Now this is a subject I can speak from experience.
Personally, tinnies never lasted long enough to be a problem for me.
But, yes, laying them down in the basket does the trick. My Engel has lasted for 20 years, they don't build em quite like that anymore.Come to think of it the tinnies are not as well made either!!

I only use stubbies. (Yes I know they are harder to dispose of but the beer tastes better). If you leave them in the cardboard 6 packs they don't rub. 8)
