2 stroke oil added to fuel tank(diesel)

Putting a little oil in every tank.....

    Fuel additive for TD5

Adding 2 stoke oil to your diesel

    There's some reading for you.

IMO it'll only help lubricity of the fuel, which can only be a good thing. I can't help but feel that most claims are placebo effect.

The South African Land Rover forums are into this big time pretty well claiming benefits up to the curing of cancer.
Would be suspicious of some of their claims.

seems to affect different engines in different ways...

some it quietens right down and seems to make them smoother, others it seems to do jack...

yet to try it in this latest 300tdi but might do so shortly... just to see what it does do with a much travelled, older unit.

IMHE it did seem to quieten the diesels a bit some years ago but I'd since forgotten about adding TT and there has been no apparent detriment.

Like Rick posts - possibly a "placebo effect"

I did comment on this years ago , searched the threads , but couldnt find anything I posted.

I tried this in my D2 td5 on and off for quite some time , years in fact.

I believe it offered positive improvement but can't recall if I actually logged any results. I had a 250ml squirt bottle that resided in my rear door and still have it , along with a small amount of 2-stroke oil which gets used in my gardening weapons now.

So don't be afraid to try it for yourself, the td5 was designed to run on almost any combustible fluid, you wont hurt it.

I use Moreys DSK in mine , which is probably pretty close to 2SO except that it has a Fungicide to kill the diesel bug , worth using it just for that.

I've seen it added to 300TDi's when they are running on either kerosene or jet fuel.

Distillate is a light oil with additives such as rust inhibitor, butane for easier starting in cooler weather, etc.
