    Speedi sleeve

    Is it feasible to put a speedi sleeve on a worn steering box shaft?
    If so,,,,,,,,,,,,, what is the size and who stocks them?? Blackwoods??

    Measure the shaft and ring bearing companies....that’s if others say it’s possible.

    Which model steering box mate?
    I had some wear and an oil leak on the output shaft on my Series 1 86" steering box shaft. I could not put a speedy sleeve on it because the shaft passes through the bush when installing it, so the sleeve would foul on the bush. I fixed it by removing the coiled steel tension ring from the oil seal, finding the join and unwinding it, then shortening it by 2mm and joining it back up. This increases the tension of the seal on the shaft and stopped the leak.
