Another oil pump bolt with no Loctite
Hey guys - just thought I'd let you know that I did the oil pump bolt check today and found that it had no signs of Loctite on it and also took virtually no effort to undo with the ring spanner I used.
If any of you guys with a 1999-2000 TD5 have not checked this yet I implore you to do so. The job was not as hard as I thought it would be - took 2 hours at the most and cost me $61.00 for the sump gasket and $13.00 for the Loctite - now have peace of mind, also used the more heavy duty version of Loctite which is still oil resistant but requires heat to remove secured bolt.
Changed fluids and filters for the first time today - what a pain in the ass - dont quite know which was worse, getting the sump off or changing the filters!!!
Regards
Daz

I've got an early 2000 build D2 and had the bolt checked during a regular service last week. The service mgr tried to talk me out of having it checked because they had never seen one with a loose bolt, but I was looking for peace of mind. They said the bolt was fine but now has loctite on it (forgot to ask if it had loctite when they checked).
All up cost about $300.
