Twin piston sliders can work ok, just try GU Patrol brakes, but I do prefer 4 pots.
Pads make a big difference in the D2, very happy with the QFM's I'm running, but they are $.

I got some 50mm GU sliders to put on the front of the Iveco to replace the 46mm Brembo sliders but on a whim put a HydroBooster & Master cyl from a '06 Suburbain on instead , If you want better brakes thats the way to go . It actually stops now . Has anyone put a Hydroboost on a Landy yet ?? , much more compact than a Vac booster.
I forgot to mention one benefit of sliders is that you don't get pad knock off like you do with opposed piston calipers.
On rough, corrugated roads I always needed a confidence dab on the middle pedal coming up to a corner in the Deefer, regardless of how tight the wheel bearings were.
And if there was any play in the bearings I'd know about it straight away...
The Defo 110/130 front callipers will bolt up fine and work quite well. Get the matching ventilated discs (and pads) and all you need to do is mod the brake line running to each ad the port position moves. Search on this forum for more detail. Assumes you have a D1a with the single line. Bigger pistons means you need a smidge more pedal travel and you do get more front brake bias if you keep the std rears.

Arrgh...Ancient Mariner is a man of much experience and wisdom. I too have run a TEFBA filter on my vehicles for close to 3 decades. Didnt put one on the D2 early enough but certainly did after the head work and new radiator. Cheers.

Gav, I would say they are rear Perentie RFSV or 6x6 calipers which are a 1 line 4 pot Disco front ones.
