Front shock length for Rangie
Has anyone lengthened the front shock mounts on their Rangie?
I know how to raise the shock mounts for the rear but can you do anything about the front?
I thought LRA sold extended towers but I spoke with them today and they don't.

u seen mine? They are from LRA could be copied but not that easily.
U could cut yr existing ones and sleeve them with a round pipe and extend them that way.
Or take the ones from yr D2 lol

We raised a mates usinging tube the same ID as the bolt, then used longer high tensile bolts. This is what i'll do to mine.
Used this method on Nissans ect with twin front shocks ect. Seems to work ok.
The other way is to machine a solid ring (probably better).
U using 80s stuff?

No, I have not seen your's Mick, I think there was probably too much mud in there to see anything last time.
You could take a pic and post it! Is it a machined metal spacer?
Dave, thanks, I think you are right, a machined spacer would be best, I guess it depends how much higher you go and whether it really makes that much difference on the front.
I am probably going to use Ridepro shocks. They make them for the Rangie and they come in a huge range of sizes up to 730mm extended I think. Oh yeah, and they are cheap!
I should have my springs made up by Friday then i will work out what length shocks I can fit.
If anyone else has pics of their raise front mounts it would be helpful.

Cool. Thats the same as Im doning - even the ridepros.
If your looking to get spacers made let me know. Might get a set aswell.
Ive got all my parts (doner car) so I can play around with thing and see what fits or not. I'll try and borrow a shock and work out how high they need to be - you wont need your spring to do it though. Just set them for max up travel (standard bumpstops) then the rest is a bonus 8)

just took pic in garage (front wheel is off atm)

lots of mud but you get the idea..... these are strong!! and were very easy to fit. too bad LRA dont make them as an off the shelf item.... he only sells them in his kits.

If LRA make them like that - then that'll do for me.
I'll make them, similar to the description above but with prob 6mm flat plates top and bottom

I was in the right place at the right time with those they were prototypes and had bung welds on them.... the hardest part was finding the bolts for them. if you could get a one pcs mechined ring that would be idea!!

i use 25mm solid bar drilled through and tapped both ends.
remove the turret, screw spacers onto bolts exposed(turret retaining ring)then use new bolts to hold down shock turret to the spacer
i will try to post pics but you can picture that its just a spacer in between the turret and upper spring mount.
make them to whatever length you want
i use 25cm spacers and 80 series ridepro shocks with haultech bushes.
sure flexes well, BUT is BALANCED front to rear!!!!!!!!!!!!
