I seem to remember from somewhere that the easiest way is to change the whole axle - there are brackets for the callipers on the axle housing or something. But I may be wrong as I was not paying attention.
G'day All,
Can anyone give me some information on conversion from drum to discs on the rear of the Land Rover County?
Do the stub axles need to be changed?
Thanks,
David.

You can do it - I think David (modman) has mentioned it.
Something along the lines of spindles, hubs and bolt on calliper mount all from a a 200tdi defender.
Thats about all i know.

I changed the complete diff on my county for a 94 Defender disc type. See what a complete 2nd-hand will cost you compared to buying stub axles, disc rotors, calipers, disc pads etc plus new seals and bits and pieces. Note: there is no need to change the brake master cylinder. If you are buying used rotors, check their thickness. Genuine new rotors are only about $70.00ea.
