You're better off waiting for a R380 manual D1, then there are no problems with incompatible bits. V8 boxes have a different input shaft.
Gday All
Just wondering on the above. Looking at putting a 300tdi in my RRC which at the present has an LT77 behind the 3.9 V8. I have an option on a donor D1 but its a auto which I don't really want.
Thoughts - good or bad let me have it.
Thanks and cheers Ean

Are you sure you have an LT77 ??
Auto 300TDI in a Classic is what Land Rover should have sold here.
L322 tdv8 poverty pack - wow
Perentie 110 wagon ARN 49-107 (probably selling) turbo, p/steer, RFSV front axle/trutrack, HF, gullwing windows, double jerrys etc.
Perentie 110 wagon ARN 48-699 another project
Track Trailer ARN 200-117
REMLR # 137
Reverse gear passenger side and up . The bloke i bought from told me he swapped out the auto box for a LT77 out of a different 1990 3.9 RRC and said it was the correct box - an LT77 for the car.
I have the auto box that came out of it along with all the gear to convert it back to auto , so would guess the auto option is still a possibility altho I am not a fan of the auto behind the 300tdi ,but i have only driven a D1 auto so not suit how the RRC be much difference.
Personal choice i guess.
Cheers Ean
The TDI does not fit the V8 box. You need a TDI box.
