The mechanic said he fits a 8" travel shock with the airbag man kit (we were talking about the rear at the time).  I'm due for replacement shocks are 5 years of abuse and matching the shock to bag is wise advice.
As for sway bars, good point.  I was initially concerned about inverting the bar when offload.  It would still be a problem with airbags and the LR bars are not torsional enough to prevent inversion so might not prevent the bag from over extending.  Using a HD fixed sway bar would be fine on road but would limit the suspension off road to the unnecessary extreme.  That is premised on using a long travel shock that doesn't act as a limitation to travel. 
I haven't found any specs on the rear airbag man kit.  It would be interesting them to compare to the bags that CAL415 uses (the same recommended by Bush65).
