Hahaha yeah a done bogan mod on my rodeo when I realy had no idea what i was doing. I think i just kept twisting it and it eventually stayed on hahah


Well ive already pulled the VC off, l pulled the spring out of its slot and moved the bend closer to the end. It seems to be staying on but the cars pretty hot still. Ill have to see what the VC is doing once it cools down a bit. Pretty sure i just need to get a new D1 one but hopefully ill get through the extreme heatwave for now 🤣🤣🤣

Well I fixed mine James. I decided to ditch the D1 & have bought a Mazda CX3 MAXX Sport due in a couple of weeks.

Seriously, mine recently blew the **** out of the overflow tank after driving home from the smoke. The tank survived ok. Called the RAA & the only thing we found after pressure testing etc was the elec. fan t/stat had been altered warmer. WTF!
But I know now who did it.[bigsad]

Checked a few things & reset it to it's coldest & a few trips now show it is ok. Who needs a thermostat this weather anyway? Right, now where did I put my shotgun for that bastid?

Disc 1 has been a very reliable car apart from a couple of small glitches & only done 146,000 km but I feel it is time to retire her before something really really major crops up. People are talking upwards of 5k -10k if the heads &/or block has gone, if not a new engine, so time to say ooroo.:no2:

Will still retain the S2A though, I mean what could possibly go wrong?[bighmmm].

So it will soon be a case of Au Revoir Good & Faithful Servant.[bawl]


BTW. Any one interested in 4 x near new OEM steel wheels sitting in my shed gathering dust, without tyres of course.

Well another warm day with the aircon on and its happened again, this time I had the trailer on also. This time the AC fans were still running trying to cool it down, temp gauge didnt budge (as they do).

Plans are to try and fix it are:

Lower ignition timing to 8°
Check MAF for over fueling
Build scoop infront of front crossmember
Pull and clean rad possibly get it rodded$$

And then the costy stuff

And not use the A.C

It is probably cheaper to fit a new radiator that have it rodded, I had mine rodded at "Natrad" and it cost me about $500 and i got a new genuine radiator for less that $500[thumbsupbig]

Are these tanks easy enough to get off and on again? If so ill have a crack myself then.

Temp gauges can be cheap! [thumbsupbig]

ps. I always thought 'over fuelling' would help it run a bit cooler(not hotter). If too lean, it'll heat up more.

Just made a call to camberfeild radiators, $120 for a clean out, tanks off rodded etc or if i wanted to go a custom built they said $800 ish not too bad.

I used someone in Somerton (just off Cooper Street), and had my rad rodded for my 4 Door.. Haven’t had a problem since.

Probably the same mob, these guys are near Sydney road just off somerton rd (Cooper st). Im pretty sure they are in somerton but are called campbellfield radiators.
