Well I fixed mine James. I decided to ditch the D1 & have bought a Mazda CX3 MAXX Sport due in a couple of weeks.
No Kid.
Seriously, mine recently blew the **** out of the overflow tank after driving home from the smoke. The tank survived ok. Called the RAA & the only thing we found after pressure testing etc was the elec. fan t/stat had been altered warmer. WTF!
But I know now who did it.
Checked a few things & reset it to it's coldest & a few trips now show it is ok. Who needs a thermostat this weather anyway? Right, now where did I put my shotgun for that bastid?
Disc 1 has been a very reliable car apart from a couple of small glitches & only done 146,000 km but I feel it is time to retire her before something really really major crops up. People are talking upwards of 5k -10k if the heads &/or block has gone, if not a new engine, so time to say ooroo.
Will still retain the S2A though, I mean what could possibly go wrong?.
So it will soon be a case of Au Revoir Good & Faithful Servant.
BTW. Any one interested in 4 x near new OEM steel wheels sitting in my shed gathering dust, without tyres of course.
