    Seat covers for the fender

    All,

We'd like some seat covers for our fender to keep the seats looking nice when we are off road.

So, off I ventured to supercheap with expectations at their 20% off sale. Well, it was not to be. The standard fitment which all the seatcovers conformed to were all single piece, and much too long and wide for the fender seats. What is more, they didn't suit the lift up cushion to get to the battery. In short, a total failure

So how have all you fellow fender owners handled it? Does anyone have any tips on what they put on their seats?

    Thanks!

    In the front my bum.
In the back the kids seats and a small car fridge.
They are an easy clean item so I don't worry.

We purchased a front only set of large sheepskins from a guy at the Carrara Markets (http://www.carraramarkets.com.au/index.htm) for our 1997 Fender. The seat base was connected to the upper but I had no trouble getting to the battery. These were not custom made covers but fitted well.

A couple of years after this we purchased another set of the same for our 1992 lancer. Soon after we traded the Fender for our 2001 Td5 Discovery and guess what, both the Defender covers and the Lancer covers fitted the Discovery!

Certainly was cheaper than custom fitted covers and they still look and fit well.

Hope this helps. I don't know if the guy is still at the Markets but he was a local Gold Coast manufacturer if that helps.

    Seat Covers

Have Defender seats in front of Stage 1, and bought seat covers from Supercheap that fit quite well. Yes, it does make it a little more difficult to get at batteries, but do not go there that often anyway. They were one piece medium size, the same style fits our Mazda 323.
    Cheers

Yes at a guess several makes and models will fit. Try and see a reputable supplier and they will happily try a few for you.

We went to Autobarn for the mid row set covers for the series 2 Discovery and they were very helpful. We ended up with a custom made set of velours for around $150 from what I remember. Good value and they were made in a week or two and delivered from Victoria. Could not be happier. We even got 20% off at the time!

    I have Takla seat covers:

    www.takla.com.au

They are waterproof and are supposed to breathe but I find they get a bit sweaty when it's hot, so I also have sheepskins over the top. When playing in the mud I just remove the sheepskins.

I think Michelle's Sacs do them as well.
