Skull drag on logs.
I reckon I know a way or 6...
Technically this request for info is not a 'technical question', but on a technicality, it may require some technical expertise.
I've had a D2 spares in my back yard for a couple years now. Problem is I can't strip the parts I need .. yet!. sloping gravel, not stable enough to raise body to remove all the required bits.
Anyhow, long story short .. new slab to be laid soon, car has been moved to one side to allow this. I can move the car around now, no brakes, but steering still intact .. etc.
What I'm hoping to do is to strip out as much as I can, including steering box, column/shaft, drag link and track rod. I.e it may eventually have no ability to steer .. AND! .. I also wanted to remove hubs.
Issue is, I have a bees knacker of width between house and fence .. so I need to move the body to the front of the house first, then would remove steering.
Driveway is in carp condition anyhow, but if I do remove hubs .. what options other than dragging along driveway .. eg. onto tray truck, or trailer or whatever(eventually) to get it to it's final resting spot.
Also, I have to find "it's final resting spot" .. the likes of pick-a-part, or simsmetal .. or wherever they'll take a non rolling chassis/shell. I'll assume they'll lift it of a trailer or tray truck, if I go down that route to remove off my property.
property is a typical suburban house/block, 2.3(ish) wide driveway down the side at the narrow bit, and about 3m at the fence .. so removing off the actual driveway won't be too hard to do eventually.
so question is: is there some type of 'dolly' type thing I could fab or rent just to make the dragging process a lot less problematic.
Alternatively: does anyone want a D2(V8) body and chassis .. free to good home!![]()

If logs are not going to work, hop onto Kennards 'lift and shift' site, something may suit.
You can always cut the wreck up and take it away in pieces if it can't be loaded on a tilt tray But as these tilt trays can load up shipping containers i can't see them having too much of a problem loading up a D2 shell.
The scrap guys used to pick up wrecks for free But I don't know if they still do this, You will have to ring them and see.

Probably seems a bit harsh Arthur, but I'd just scrap it now whilst its on wheels (easy for all concerned) and then buy back the hubs once its at the wreckers. You'll possibly find it wont be that expensive to buy bits back.
The car's then out of the way, and you've moved it easily.
Now, having said that,, lets see if I can use my own advice in concern with the Mini![]()
only takes me about 3 hours to plasma cut a disco and load it with some one helping with the lifting.
