    Overheating after Coolant Flush

    Hey guys,
we flushed our cooling system, had some issues with the AC heating inside after that. So it was probably air in the heater. We opened the Drain Plug and it came approx 2 Liters out. The thing that you can open on the top hose was too often used, so we couldnt really used that, i tried to squeeze the hose, it did something but not very much.
So we started refilling, it was full after 2,5 liters. We started the engine and revved it to 2,000 rpm so that it heats up and the thermostat opens. We did that for around 20 minutes, it always went over the overflow tank and many air bubbles came out. After a while, we left it idle, the amount in the overflow tank went down to the normal level and we started to fill it up again. We fitted another 0,5 liters in it, until it stayed in the box. we left it idle again, and again, very few small bubbles came out. the test drive was good until it started to heat up. simultaneously, the car had 10 percent of the power and it felt like limb mode. we parked the car in the shadow and now we are waiting for it to cool down.

we had a problem with the heater during the flushing process and the short drive while flushing, no air at all was coming from the fans. when on cold, we felt air.
now we got air, but it is not really warm, more the same temperature as outside.

any ideas how we can stop the car from overheating?
air in the system? how can we get it out?

    cheers marc

Not sure if your transmission is fixed yet from one of your other threads , ( there is a search function at the bottom of the page ) but there's a very good chance you've warped the head or finished off the plastic head dowels if fitted , you really need to bleed as per the method shown by lemo , but if you have to try without undoing the bleeder then take the small hose that runs off the back of the top hose off and fill the tank until coolant ( I'd try water first ) comes out both the pipe and the hose. Put back together then have a look in the expansion tank until you see a jet of coolant coming through the telltale , don't go for a drive until you see this.
This is not the type of vehicle to start playing mechanics with, and starting new threads isn't going to fix it , but good luck anyway, you're going to need it
