I can confirm the "4x4 is Reborn" DVD is tops.
Was thinking about doing the same but on reflection what does a Series or defender body add to the project - Range Rovers are cheap and the same suspension mods can be done as if it was a hybrid with far less work and engineering. The other aspect was that RTA tech standards have indicated that they frown in newer cars that have been demodernized eg a 90s rangie with a series body but look favaouably on an older car being moderised - eg a series body with later safety mods like a rangie chassis (is the glass half full or is it have empty?). The issue becomes vehicle ident - is a 90s rangie with a 70s body a 90s or a 70s car - I have been given mixed messages from the RTA on this.
So it is clear that any such work should be done not only with an engineer in mind but in discussion with the RTA.
