Entirely fair comment there, Mark. Change the cap, Sith.

Mark, where are you these days, after your world adventure?

Ok ...started on her at 730am today 8O

Blew out ever fuel line front to back , breather hose , removed the AC DELCO glass bowl filter totally cleaned and brand new filter , dropped all the fuel from the tank and ran it thru a paper gauze filter ..amazed at the gunk in there 8O 8O
Bled the canister in the engine bay again .
Went to Britt Parts brought new fuel cap

it is 1236pm WA time ..........just sat down

    verdict .......stopped doing it 8) 8) 8) 8)

but now noticed all the small fuel hoses between the injectors and split or leaking

so i dont know which one of the above seems to have fixed it .....
Dave at Britt Parts seems to think it wouldn't be the fuel cap as they are ment to be a sealed unit ..but believes it may be the fuel lines ....he has it next week anyway to fix the ignition so will go all over it then

I would like to thank everyone for their input and advise

    Many thanks !

The fuel caps have a check valve in them, they can breath inwards not outwards.....

    Cheers

Hi Guys had the same thing happen to my TDi , landrover service guy replaced fuel pump and filter ,reason was tank had slam **** in it , which blocked up pump and filter up, after that motor was back to normal and told me to put some fuel additive in the tank to stop growth of slam stuff and drain the back tank filter for water & slam every month into it clears up, that was last november and motor still running fine. cheers4now alex

    Back in the UK now...

    Living with the in-laws... :?

Looking on the bright side, the in-laws live in London, are charging us almost nothing in rent and we now have live in baby sitters.

So yes, we're trying to get back to some normality, looking for work and somewhere to live. Oh... and the truck is supposed to be back in the UK on May 16th. 8)

Going to pen a book about your recent life, Mark? It's not everyone who decides to go for a drive around the world, in the same car. Especially that one!
