    MSB ECU'S

hi folks. to cut a long story short, i recently acquired 2 td5 engines with their corresponding ecu's. 1999 and 2000. the 2000 has been totally rebuilt at some stage. it is in a parts car i bought. it moves along very smartly compared to bog standard. no labels on ecu's although both have had there covers removed in the past. on the parts car nanocom says :-
    config tune I.D. = sutdp007
    Fuel tune I.D. = suhde 022
ECU Part Nos = No Flash
    Homologation = 4145

acelerator listed as 3 way , but all wiring is for 2 way ?? vin nos is listed

i'm guessing these are examples of early remapping where the " chip" was changed.???

are the ecu's tied to their respective engines or cars.

i'm guessing that the engines could be transplanted into a pre eu03 without any drama's.

what about the ECU's ?? can they be used on another engine ? ( not the one they were remapped for )

better to find out now what i can do with them than " brick " them by mistake.

thanks for any info . pete :-)

Hi, you can swap MSB ECUs and pair them to any 10P engine using nanocom with some conditions:
    1. the ECU to match the vehicle's transmission whih means dont fit manual ECU to automatic or vice-versa
    2. after you plugged it in go with nanocom in "Utility" and make the ECU learn the security code
    3. set the throttle to ''2 track" and save the injector codes in it
    ... then it should run

btw .... there is a version of ''transition" MSB101330(manual)/340(auto) which were on th first Eu3 engines and these are set to 3 track throttle so if you set one to 2 track and the engine runs only at idle set it to 3 and the engine will run but that's a kind of "hybrid" Eu3 setup and it might be some black smoke

also don't be stressed about ''bricking" any ECU cos it won't be hurt if it doesnt match the engine eventually the engine will not run or run like sh*t ... it's more possible to hurt the engine on a long run with an unproperly mapped ECU than vice-vera.
    Discovery Td5 (2000), manual, tuned
