3.9V8 rangie fuel consumption tips
Hello all,
Need some help with the Weapon of Mass Consumption, just after tips for reducing fuel use, has anyone fitted a Hiclone, electric fan etc, do they really do anything?
I've been out of the landrover game for a few years & just picked up a very nice 92 Vogue, it's only a plaything ( for now ).
Any help welcome,

Buy a motorcycle or small car to drive around town.
I have tried hyclone and zip difference. Want to buy it to prove for yourself????
Tin pellets also zilch.
Clean aircleaner helps. no K&N . Fouled my MAF but sold to someone.
Plugs, leads, dizzy cap
sensors operating correctly.
Biggest difference for me was changing back to 205x16 tyres with street tread (BFG Longtrail) and keeping my 245.75X16 ATs for rough offroad.
My last Long Range Tank gave 15.5 l/100K in urban and drive down to Jervis Bay and back. As this is impossible I probably didn't fully fill the LR tank. BUT the current tank is over 1/2 after 400KM.
So I expect at least 17 maybe 16 average over 2 tanks.
This also coincides with my cleaning the contacts on my MAF connector and temp sensor, as previous tank I got 22.5 l/100KM. OUCH
So make sure your MAF and temp sensor are working and the ECU is not in Limp Home mode. EEC figures are 14MPG (20l/100km) city and 19MPG at steady 70MPH so about 15L/100KM.
You are not going to do much better than that

cheers for that,
Just showing my ignorance, What's a MAF?.
I'm pretty much a technophobe, need these things explained!, then I'll go and check them...
It's only a weekend plaything, I'm not expexting miracles as this is my 4th landrover so i kinda know i'm not going to get that much out of it, I'd just like to know I'm getting the best out of it..
