Has anyone killed there Maxi drive locker? i just pulled one down and found the fork had snapped of the actuator! and ran amock and punched though the diff pumpkin, also which i think may be unrelated the driver side axle outer spline is twisted, ready to snap, just like the standard axles do!, the locker is pretty old and had a hard life but was wondering if anyone else has had this sort of damage before??

Also anyone bought a replacement fork and/or driver side rear axle and what sort of price?? will call maxi drive tomorrow but just curious to what others have paid??

I think Ruff on O/L has twisted a spline on a Maxi axle, but I haven't heard of anyone in OZ breaking an axle yet. Is it one of the early type where the spline is below the axle diameter, or one of the waisted, axle diameter nearer the spline root diameter later types ?

Have you talked to Mal at all ?

Just spoke to mal and the actuator fork breaking he said was the earlier ones they had cast were hardened to much and wer brittle, but its atleast 15 years, and the axle twist is just due to fatique and abuse and is close to breaking its almost done 2 splines worth of rotation, So just bought a new axle and end cap and to front axles for my gayrover and he threw the fork in free.

G'Day I snaped both maxi axles in the rear of the rangie late last year pulling a 110 up a very steep boggy hill both at the same time went off like a 105 they were the early type and had seen a lot of hard work and i got good service off mall he even throw in two of the newer end caps when I got the axles
