I'm currently replacing the EGT probe for my Madman EMS as the old one is giving ridiculous readings such as an ambient air temperature above 1,000*C < Td5 EGT spikes - how to confirm EGT probe is not faulty? >.

The new EGT probe supplied by Jan Dppenaar of Nata Enterprises has strange wiring colours different to the standard red (negative) and yellow (positive) that most EGT probes seem to use. Instead it comes with green and orange wires sticking out, which when I went further into it's wiring to see if the proper wiring colours existed turned out to be red and black rather. Some testing using hot water has confirmed the correct orientation as:

Madman EMS white wire should connect to red - probe lead. New EGT probe wire for this connection is orange (which if you strip the wires back on the loom turns to black).

Madman EMS orange wire should connect to yellow + probe lead. New EGT probe wire for this connection is green (which if you strip the wires back on the loom turns to red).

So the new probe wiring makes logical sense as the black is negative and red is positive, but its a bit opposite to the original as the orange wire doesn't connect to the EMS orange wire and the red wire doesn't connect to where the old red did...

Hope this helps others in the future.
