Hi guys my disco has hit the 200000km mark. I have been told this is about the time that the injectors need replacing. Is this true? At the moment it is running well, and with a mixture of short trips and longer trips say 50km or so i am returning 10.5-11L/100km. Its first big run will come in the next school holidays when we will do a tour of the riverina and clock up about 2000km in a week or so. I regularly put the wynns injector cleaner through it (at $12 a bottle i do it as often as i can) and have only just run out of the chem tech diesel additive.

I was looking on the British 4wd Website and their listing for Injectors is $244, i assume this is each. Is this a fair price? Matt

    Hi Ace
i replaced injectors in my 300 a few months ago mine had 240k on it .
i got them from MJK Discovery at Bellingen for $760 set of 4.
didn't see much improvement after new ones installed, my fuel economy was on par to yours.

What is Murray Kingman's business phone number. I can't find MJK Discovery in the White Pages. I wanted to pass his number on to someone else.

    Injectors

Howdy Ace - I'm about 80k in front of you, and I get the same fuel figures you get. Previous threads have discussed this - Generally anybody in Australia is going to charge around the $200 mark (ea), and if you order from the UK, about $100 (ea - including post, no VAT). The best price in the UK is
    http://www.paddockspares.com/sp/absp...ine_Parts.html

34 UKPd / $81 AUD each - no VAT applicable, postage unknown.

They come up on ebay (worldwide - just put in landrover injector) but the bidding is fierce, and you end up paying close to retail anyway.

I am curious that Big T didn't see any improvement with his new injectors - I guess we'll just have to continue with injector cleaner. I use wynns too each odd tank - I tried Moreys, wasn't impressed.

For the others - I know I keep saying I'll buy some and report about it - but other bills keep raising their ugly heads.SSDD

Hi guys, no worries. I am going to have to wait a while then.

The timing belt has been done recently and i have just done the radiator flush. Is the intercooler flush a big task? Does it need to be removed? Matt

    Hi Ace,,
from the replies I think you'd be better off keeping the $800 in your pocket and have a nice holiday,,
I'm sure your economy vigilance will let you know when its time to change.

They dont just stop working do they?
therefore are unlikely to stop you.

I understand your wanting a trouble free holiday---

I'm with Pedro.... Stick with the ones you've got until they're knackered.

If anything, just carry a couple as spares... Just in case.
