    QLD Blue Mod Plate

    Hi All,

I was wondering if some of the Queensland members could help me out and shed some light on QLD Mod plates please...

My 101 was imported into QLD - and it carries this mod plate:

But what exactly does this mean?

According to this website Light vehicle modifications (Department of Transport and Main Roads)

It appears to simply state that "LO1" = ADR compliance.

Can anybody else shed any more light?

If I read the web-page correctly it is saying that my 101 meets ADRs - which seems a little vague to me, but maybe that's a good thing..?

    Cheers,
    GG.

A vehicle cannot be regoed without ADR compliance. Your vehicle was not issued with an ADR compliance plate. The blue plate is essentially a retro fitted compliance plate.
If you don't like trucks, stop buying stuff.

But, as far as I am aware, the Qld plate is meaningless in Victoria! (Or anywhere outside Qld.)

Correct for WA at least. They consider/take note of it when the vehicle is taken over the pits here pre-registration.

The old state vs state regulations minefield again!

The vehicle has flown through a RWC, has this blue compliance plate, and is on Historic Registration - but in reality is it ADR compliant? Who the hell knows...

That is not correct, my Jag (imported 1984), my Haflinger (made in Melbourne 1973) and my 101 (sold off from the Army in the early 90s) do not have ADR compliance plates or mod plates and have no issue being registered.

All vehicles builds are later than the introduction of compliance plates.

My 101 has a Qld mod plate for ADR and seatbelt compliance - Victoria recognised this no dramas for Rego. I also know a guy that has custom truck bodies built and complianced in Qld then registers the trucks in Vic with the Qld Mod plate. He says it’s far easier to get the Mod plate in Queensland than in Vic.
If you need to contact me please email homestarrunnerau@gmail.com - thanks - Gav.
