Don't know where they got $3000+ from, that must be fitted. If you have to change ratios, go the toy route with jacmac axles and tjm prolocker, a fair bit cheaper and you get a stonger diff.
Right on this is a good Conversion and are stonger that rover C&P.

I wouldnt mind knowing more detailed information about this conversion. Any one got a web site? Im fully expecting my front axle assy will self destruct some time in the near future.

what do you need to know? If you want to have a look at minew before they go in let me know (go in next weekend), or there is a good write up on this on Pirate4x4.
Basically its a hilux rear centre, 80 or 100 series high pinion front, Jacmac axles, toyota cv's, all in rover housings.

Only prob is the high pinion TOJO centres suck, they are weaker than any rover CW&P when used in reverse, 35's, mild right foot in reverse and SNAP one ****ed high pinion ****ota centre, from experience not interent education to!

Cloughy, are you still running KAM centres or a low pinion 'yota ?
If KAM, what's the tooth count, if you can remember ?
Wasn't someone making Rover centres with a 'different' tooth count to get some more toothe engagement/strength ?

Save your money and get ARB lockers front and rear and you can get something else with the savings. I am running them both front and rear and others can tell you I give them plenty of use and have had no problems.

Yea KAM gears, meant to be the best of aftermarket rover gears, tooth count is 41/10 4.1 ratio, they've been in for a few years now

Yea tooth counts can be 4.1 41/10 or 4.11 37/9

Just buy the Maxidrives and fit them yourself. Take your time and follow the instructions. If I can do it...
