    Independent in Melbourne

Hi All, I've a thread in the D3 pinnacles detailing my tdv6 losing power and smoking under load and generally being slothful towing my van.
Can anyone recommend an indie around Melbourne that I might chat to or visit tomorrow for a quick look and some advice?
We limped into Eden last night (Sat). I've checked the obvious intercooler hoses and waste gate actuator. So we've ditched the van into storage and are proceeding to Melbourne. She is holding 100 on the highways and only fades up hill. Smoke still apparent under load but less so. Generally less responsive but drivable. Cheers Ralph

You could try Les Richmond in Thomastown, all they do is Landrover, very helpful and honest guys who know their stuff.......Obviously like most workshops, they're pretty busy, but on many occasions they have moved jobs around so they can keep interstate travellers on the road. .......

Two. Exhaust gas recirculation low. That one has been around for a while and comes back straight after clearing. Second was low boost pressure or something like that. It hasn't come back. Prob is I cleared them before thinking to save the log. I'll check again later today. Cheers

Ok. Drove successfully into Melbourne. Car went ok. Fuel consumption average to good actually. Held highway speed well and only floundered a little under uphill load. Still emits black smoke on acceleration but not as much as pulling the van.

AMV in Ringwood is another suggestion. I've found them to be excellent.

Okies. We've driven to Bendigo and surrounds without more trouble. Will still hold highway velocity but slower on acceleration and puffs a bit when the boot is in. I'm 'probably' going to drive her back to Brisbane at the end of our holidays and deal with it there. Of course I'm hoping a new set of hoses will fix it, but always fear it's gunna be the turbo!
