    Alternator, glowing charge light

    Disco 1 , 200TDI
Towing the van home after 4 days away, and charge light starts to glow. Denso A127-65 alternator. VERY faint at idle, get brighter with revs and extra load.
Aux battery in disco and battery in van (both 100ah) were both at around 12.0v when we left camp, so some load on alternator.
Got home and checked battery voltage, 14.1v at idle - 13.8v with high beam and driving lights on. charge light glowing. Pick revs up to 1500 and charge light quite bright and volts up to 13.9. Charge light goes out with ign off, comes on when turn ign to on, as per normal.
Checked/cleaned all connections with no change.

Guessing a reg and/or rectifier issue? Time for a new alternator?

    Thoughts?
