    Engine Mounts

Hi , I’m working my way through replacing all the old rubber on my Discovery 1 V8 1997 where it’s needed.

The Engine Mounts and Transfer Case Mounts are all original.

    Pics attached.

Should any of these be replaced ?

They actually look OK, but it is likely that they have hardened a bit - they are nearly 20 years old. I would say - up to you!

Can't see real well from the photos but are there a few cracks in some of them?
Generally speaking, rubber items can only be relied on for about 10 years so with about 23 years on those I'd be replacing them all.

At least one of those round engine mounts is a roadworthy fail, visible cracks - recently had to replace one on my RRC for that reason. FYI, I needed one in a hurry, the local LR dealer in Geelong quoted $135 but didn't have any, but got one at Burson's for $16 - perfect fit.
