    Stubborn screws

Seems crazy to raise this thread, but I went to try and fit the child-anchor-bar that I bought from Bushie over the w/e... I thought it was going to be an easy job, coupla screws, maybe drill-out a hole here or 2... I started to unscrew the 4 phillips head screws in the rear panel and mate, those buggers would not budge... Anyone had any problems with this? It seemed like they were rusted. Should I douse it with wd40 or is there something better for alumininium?

    Cheers,
    Scott

    G'day Scott,

Under that panel you will find an opening, slide a 10mm open end spanner in their and then try and undo it. Their is also a small plate.
Little fiddly but not to hard.

    Gday Jake,

Thanks for that... I got back out there tonight and must've sat upside down with my head stuck under those screws for about 10-15 minutes... sweatin' and cursin' but I got the spanner onto the nut and started to get it undone... I put the screwdriver in to finish it off but still stuck... put my fingers underneath and realised I'd unscrewed the wrong one... there's another right next to it! So, spannered that little guy back up, then fumbled around for another 10 minutes to get the spanner on the other one. Mate, cracked the sh#ts big time... I shouldn't have had those 2 guinesses when I got home from work... anyway, I grabbed a pair of multi-grips -> locked it around the screw-head -> turned it -> and whatdoyerknow -> un-screwed no worries... Anyway, very happy now, got the screw out and it turns out there's a rectangular goldie-coloured backing plate with the nut welded onto it.

So thanks again... without your post I would've taken the easy way out and got someone else to do it.

    Regards,
    Scott
