Hello All,

When I first bought a Land Rover Series 3 that was fitted with a 2.25 litre diesel I wanted to have the engine compression tested. Because the vehicle was unregistered I had a mobile mechanic call round.

The compression test could not be carried out because none of the adaptors in the mechanic's compression testing kit was small enough to fit the 2.25 litre motor. This dead-end occurred years ago and I cannot remember what part of the injector system for a cylinder was going to be connected to.

To avoid my buying a diesel compression testing set and finding out that none of the adaptors fit. Could someone please let me know what brand of diesel compression tester did you successfully use. Also what size adaptor a kit should have to fit the Series 3 2.25 litre system?

Also, what part of the cylinder's system is the adaptor fitted to test that cylinder for compression?

Kind regards
Lionel
