Towing with a County - Higher gears?

We are doing a 10,000klm trip starting July, towing our 16' poptop. Long service - Hooray Lookout you Queenslanders

I was looking at the Four Wheel Drives catalogue and the higher gearing transfer gears says - not for towing or Isuzu..
Obviously they are strong enough and it says a 12% increase, which should be perfect.
With a 4.2 would,nt that overcome the power problem?
Anybody had any experience with this ?

    My 2c...

    What's a 4.2 put out ? Around 140 kW and 320 Nm on paper ?

I assume the higher gearset FWD offer is the 0.996 gearset for the LT-95 which I have (~2300-2400 rpm @ 100k). If my Isuzu County with its miserly 74 kW and 242 Nm can pull my Camper Trailer (supposedly 750 kg, but probably more) around Oz for 4 months, towing your bigger van may be livable with your extra grunt. Think I'd rather have my fuel bill though.

Good Point, I might put the 35" swampers on and try it, not that I'll take them for the trip, but it will give me an idea how she tows. Then I might go the Disco gears.

Thanks isuzu 110 too- I am running LPG
