    Steering box issues

So, while advoiding another car mid corner (who seemed to like using all the road) on the dirt going home, i collected a fair sized rock with the NSF wheel, hard enough to rip wheel from my hands and narrowly avoiding goin bush.

Noticed now that steering isnt quite right. All rods are straight, rod ends good. Drppped link off steering box and it had very slight backlash in centre position, so tweeked it a bit. Turn wheel to full lock, and quite a bit of play. Adjust this so its only a slight backlash, and its (overly) tight in the centre. Has a very noticable grumble.

Ideas? Worth looking at, or just get another box.
