    soft springs for lightweight 110

I've almost finished converting my 110 wagon to a soft top using a hardtop tub. I'd estmate its now about 200kg lighter over the rear axles.

Problem is now the rear springs are too heavy, the shocks are fully extended and the ride is HARSH.

Any ideas as to where I can find a really soft (low spring rate) set of springs for a 110 rear ? I will gladly sacrifice some ride height when loaded and put up with body roll (its not a sports car) to achieve a good ride and off-road traction. All the 110 springs I've seen so far have very high rates for carrying massive loads.

As far as I know, all Land Rover coil springs are interchangeable front to rear and model to model. It should be pretty straightforward to find something appropriate.

Genuine rover coils will be the lightest rate you will find and far better in metal quality to any of the crap that is made in australia. The owners of 110 on this forum should be able to help you, maybe there is some aussie made springs that will do, I doubt it though.

All rover do not take the same coils. rangie and disco are smaller in diameter to 110 and will not fit.

110 front springs are the same diameter as other rover coils - no problem there - the rears are unique to 110's - larger diameter

110 rears from the eighties were used with the Boge leveler and are a lot lighter in rate than Defender rears, which are 330lb/in.

Yes - you want the springs specified for the levelled suspension - unless you are planning to carry heavy loads. It might be worth checking if the springs you have are standard or heavy duty, if they are heavy duty, then maybe you need the standard ones.

Are genuine springs still available through the dealers?

The rear springs currently fitted are King Springs, standard (I'd hate to see the heavy duty ones)
