    D2 ecu swap gone bad?

Gday guys after having the dreaded topside switch failed fault I tracked down a new nnn ecu for her and put that in this morning before work programmed it and took it for a drive on the way back I gave it a bit just too make sure that fault wouldn’t come back and I heard a loud ping followed by my rpm dropping to 2000 and not wanting to go any high I got it home in the driveway put it in neutral and it revs up alright drive however still only 2000 I’m not sure where to start looking? Possible trans issue?

Edit: got too have a look on my lunch break was Intercooler pipe let go
