    110/Defender utes - cab components

My question is in relation to interchangeability of parts betwen 110 Defender ute cabs and Series 2A/3 parts.

I know the roofs are obviously different, but what about the upper rear cab section - the rear panel with the windows that bolts to the 'top of the front' of the tub? Would a Series section fit with a 110 ute roof? - they are a lot cheaper and easier to find.....

My 110 wagon to soft top conversion is stalling because of difficulty sourcing some of the components like ROPS bars and 110 canopy frames so I will be fitting a ute cab until I can source all the necessary soft top bits. I have found a 110 ute roof but still need a rear panel.

It should fit, maybe have a few different positions for bolts ect.

They do have different back window frames, the series one is much thick and limits the final seat position by an inch or so.
The seals are different as well, but you can fit 110 seals to a series anyway so you should figure that out.

They are cheap and easy to find, give it a go - you wont loose anything by it.

I agree with Dave - and I think you will find the bolt holes match. As he says, the rear window is different, but you should be able to live with the Series one. The lip on the edge is turned up for the series seal and straight for the 110 seal, but an angle grinder should fix that.
Seat belt bracket may be a concern - there were several fitted/not fitted to 2/2a/3 cabs, and I suspect you will need the latest S3 to meet ADR requirements, or even the genuine 110 part - but on the other hand if it looks professional there will probably never be a question!

most of the series cabs I've seen so far werent fitted with upper seat belt mounts - they either had no belts fitted or lap belts. Some even had a bolt just drilled straight through the aluminum skin of the cab for the upper mount - very scary.....
