    INJECTOR METAL PIPE SEALING

Since refitting my injectors on the TDV6 i have had trouble with one of the metal fuel pipes not sealing on the fuel rail.
Tried undoing it at both ends then re-tightening at the leaking end, then loosening the injector so i can wiggle it to try and get a better position for it to seal but no joy.
My next plan is to remove the pipe and see if i can clean up the end surface with fine w&d paper.

The injector pipes are a 1 use only. Do not try to clean them up with wet and dry. If any of the swarf enters the injector it will damage it.
It doesn't leak oil, Its sweating power

I wouldn't be putting it back without thorough cleaning, i think i may have had it the wrong way around so will see if it seals now ( even though it looks identical at either end ).

Reversed the pipe and all tight now, found a leak at the leak injector fitting so that is now nipped up and no longer leaking.

The problem is the ends are a crush seal, much like an olive on a hydraulic pipe. The extra torque required to get a seal a second time can deform the pipe enough to impact fuel flow. Just keep a good eye out for leaks.

I worked out it would be around $400 just to replace the pipes from the rails to the injectors then the 2 longer pipers from pump to rails so probably $600 + .
That's wasn't going to happen unless a last resort.

I can understand that. When I did my pump I tossed up re-using the pump to rail pipes, but when I thought about the pressures involved the potential for atomisation of a diesel leak it made me think twice. The genuine pipes were $55 each at the local indy.
