Gday gents.
Im in the midst of a project mating an LT230 to a Merc 722.6 auto.
I have finished the adapter plates and need a spud shaft.
My intention was to find a machine shop to respline the female end of a ZF spud shaft to suit, but I’m having trouble finding someone who will tackle the job.
I have had a quote to manufacture the required shaft that came in at ~ $1700, not what I was expecting.....
I know there is an adapter and shaft available from onlinegearbox, however it isn’t for the output shaft in my box and the adapter is longer than I want.
If anyone has accomplished similar or knows a shop in Vic. that would respline an existing spud shaft please let me know.
Cheers
D

If you've benefited from one or more of my posts please remember, your taxes paid for my skill sets, I'm just trying to make sure you get your monies worth.
If you think you're in front on the deal, pay it forwards.
$1700 sounds about right for a one off custom shaft built with the correct materials and properly hardened.
Does the merc gearbox have a flanged output? Could you use a Rakeway flanged input shaft in to the LT230 box?

Some pics of where your at would be good
Try Coljen gear cutting in Heidelberg - they are happy to take on one off stuff and do good work. Word of warning - they are a production shop so one offs can take a while - I had some steering shafts resplined by them - took a while, but I wasn’t in a rush. Nice people, easy to deal with.

This is one I got Rakeway to make to join a ML722.6 to an LT230. I also got them to re-spline the input gear on the TC
