    What's this?

    Hi All,

I wasn't sure where to put this exactly - sorry mods if it is in the wrong area.

I know that these are carbies attached to an airbox - but what vehicle do they belong to?

The 81 2 door RRC that donated the red paint to my POS had those fitted. Same air boxes.

Ran OK on petrol and gas.

I think my '83 RRC had them but I can't recall if my '84 V8 County had them.

The V8 County in the Middle East anyway had this big aircleaner at the back and a cardboard and aluminium hose running down to the exhaust manifold with a flap controlled by water temperature that opened over the manifold when cold.

Only reason I know is that a neighbour had one which wouldn't run well when cold . I found the hose had collapsed internally.

my '79 RRC had the same filter set up too.
I also had a '76 SD1 with the same filter set up too.

They weren't easy to change in the RRC, the rocker cover didn't allow a lot of room to drop the lower section once unclipped. But doable with minimal blood stains on rocker covers.
    But the SD1 was a bloodbath/nightmare!

I basically bought a job lot fron a deceased estate.

From what I can tell - the bits are from a Suffix B.

I am restoring a Suffix D - which has a different air box setup.
