are you talking about 16" or 15"
a mate of mine just bought 31x10.5 , 15" siverstone mud terrain a very aggressive tread pattern better than bfg,s for $180.00 each
I simply cannot afford to buy BFG's etc at the moment but need to get some new tyres and would like to get M/T's or agressive AT's ..
anyone have an opinion on what the better options are in the cheapy brands?
or is it simply not worth the trouble?

Pirellis, Hankooks, Kumho can usually be got at a good price. When I rang around a while back I found the price on a tyre could vary up to $70 depending on retailer. As the site Guru, I reckon a tyre supplier should give you a set to evaluate for some site advertising. At worst you might be able to strike a deal for a discount.

Hi Inc
AgroJnr put some MT remoulds on his Disco, they looked pretty good, were very cheap, his main complaint was they were very stiff in the sidewall.
If you have a spare set of rims may be OK as play tyres???

a mate of researched the death out of tyres and he came up with Pirellis as value for money, i think they did all right in the 4wd monthly mag testing
Motorway MT Remoulds seem a good budget choice - ask Larry.

I nearly bought Maxxis Buckshot Mudders instead of the BFG MT's except for the fact my mate in Sydney did me a deal on the BFGs when I was down there at Xmas time.
They get a good wrap and were priced very well when I was looking, I think from memory around $230 +ea for 245/75s (31"), the 225/75s (29" or std) were even cheaper closer to $200 ea from memory.
If they are for going bush as a second set, then the motorway retreads would be good value, I have a set- half worn, of Jeep service retreads that have been fine, they were REALLY cheap too.(not motorway)
But -I wouldnt go over 95K/hr with them
