    Welding an airbag equipped seat

I have Subaru Outback, that has broken a bracket on the seat base.
The seat has electric adjustment and an airbag.

What is the procedure for removing it from the car?
Disconnect the battery and just unplug it?

Is it safe to weld the bracket back on, once the seat is out? I could probably drill and bolt it back together if that's safer.

    Thanks in advance.

So every one else here must have an old Defender with out exploding seats like I do.

I disconnected the battery, (probably not necessary) unplugged the three connectors, pulled the seat out.
I chickened out of welding, drilled out the broken spot welds, bolted the bracket back in place, and the seat now doesn't sag in the front left corner.
